This Week’s can Drop: Fresh Arrivals @ the Independent

The sun is finally shining, the beers are ice-cold, and we’re back with another seriously exciting can drop. As always, our fridges are packed with an incredible lineup, but we’ve pulled out a few standout newcomers to give you a taste of what’s in store this week.

If you’re a fan of big, hoppy brews, smooth stouts, or refreshing pales, you’ll want to read on. Let’s dive in.

In a rush?

Left Handed Giant – The Cheeseburger Gang Returns!

@lefthandedgiantbrewing has done it again. Their Cheeseburger Gang series is an ode to Citra and Mosaic—two hops that, when combined, create an ultimate balance of zesty citrus, tropical fruit, and resinous pine. This week, we welcome two more members of the gang:

  • Slider (5.5% West Coast Pale) – Crisp, clean, and full of bright citrus notes, this beer leans into the classic bitterness and clarity of the West Coast style. Expect a refreshing hit of grapefruit, pine, and a snappy, dry finish.
  • Double Cheese (8.4% DIPA) – This is where things get big, bold, and juicy. Double Cheese turns up the intensity with a soft, pillowy body, a massive dose of tropical fruit, and a resinous bite to round it all out. It’s a true showcase of Citra and Mosaic in all their glory.

Oh, and if you missed last week’s Cheeseburger, don’t worry—we’ve still got a few cans left if you want to complete the full set.

Deya – Vinyl Vibes and Tropical Juiciness

@deyabrewery is back in the fridges, bringing two brand-new releases with them:

  • Record Store Day (4% Pale) – Brewed in collaboration with @recordstoreday, this beer is a celebration of record shops, vinyl culture, and the ritual of flipping through stacks of LPs. Expect a light, sessionable pale with soft citrus and floral notes—the perfect accompaniment to a lazy afternoon spent spinning records.
  • Approval From Upper Management (5.2% IPA) – With a name like this, we’re guessing it’s best enjoyed after you’ve clocked out. This IPA is bursting with Citra and Simcoe, giving you big tropical fruit flavors, a touch of resin, and a beautifully balanced, easy-drinking finish.

Weekend Project – A Taste of New Zealand

@weekendprojectbrewco has delivered an absolute beauty of a pale ale:

  • Milford Sound (6.5% NZ Pale) – Named after the stunning misty fjords and soaring peaks of Fiordland National Park, this beer is an ode to New Zealand’s lush landscapes and world-class hops. Featuring Nectaron and Superdelic, expect waves of tropical fruit, zesty orange, and ripe guava, all wrapped up in a soft and hazy IPA base.

Newbarns – Classic Pale Ale, Elevated

@newbarnsbrewery is known for their clean, well-crafted beers, and this one is no exception:

  • Pale Ale (4.8%) – Brewed with Golden Promise malt for a full, rounded body, this pale is hopped with Citra, El Dorado, and Cashmere. Fermented with a neutral ale yeast, it lets the malt and hops shine—expect balanced bitterness, soft fruitiness, and a beautifully clean finish.

Track – Two Absolute Bangers

@trackbrewingco has delivered two very different (but equally exciting) beers:

  • From Above (4.1% Gluten-Free Pale) – Proof that gluten-free beers can be just as delicious as their traditional counterparts. This one combines Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, giving you a tropical, juicy hit with just the right amount of bitterness and a bright lemony finish. (Bonus: Lottie ranks this in her top five beers of all time, and that’s saying something.)
  • Wonder (8.4% DIPA) – Another entry in Track’s famous Gold Top collection, this big, smooth, and incredibly well-balanced DIPA is absolutely loaded with juicy flavors. Imagine peach, melon, tangerine, and grape, all layered over a sweet, creamy base with a hint of caramel-capped banana split.

Arbor – The Return of Breakfast Stout

@arbor.ales has brought back a fan favorite:

  • Breakfast Stout (7.2%) – If you love your beers dark, rich, and indulgently smooth, this one’s for you. A silky oatmeal stout packed with deep coffee notes and luxurious bittersweet chocolate—basically, the perfect way to start (or end) the day.

Beak – Hum’s Big Brother Has Arrived

@beakbrewery has upped the ante with this one:

  • Hummm (8% DIPA) – You loved Hum, but what if it was bigger, bolder, and even more intense? That’s exactly what you’re getting here. Thicker, hoppier, zestier… Hummier. This is our bet for the crowd favorite of the week, so don’t sleep on it.

Stock Up While You Can!

As always, these are just a handful of the fresh arrivals this week. There’s plenty more in the fridges, so whether you’re after something hazy, crisp, roasty, or sour, we’ve got you covered. But when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Come down, stock up, and let’s raise a glass to great beer and even better weather.
